Hola!  We’re back in Addis & happy with life. 

Yesterday, we travelled in the morning & then got situated in our living accommodations & had a service at Pastor Eyob’s church in the evening, so it was a nice, full day.  The service went well - I ministered on following Jesus’ voice as our shepherd & not the stranger’s voice.  God also gave me several verses to minister to specific individuals in the service, so it was fun to flow in this gift.  Everyone was very happy to sleep last night & most slept extremely well.

This morning, we’ve had the great opportunity to do a vbs at Pastor Eyob’s church for street kids, orphans & HIV / aids kids.  It has gone really well & at present, we’re providing lunch for them.  We probably had around 500 kids, so its been lots of fun!

Tomorrow, we have the opportunity to do some street outreaches & evangelism, so we’re really praying about that & looking forward to it!

Yesterday, we had our first church service in Gondar. The church was packed with over a 1,000 people! We had to bring in extra seats to accommodate everyone!

The evening kicked off with the team’s stomp dance. Talk about high-energy! Sarah taught on “going through tests” which is something the people of Ethiopia face every day. Violence, lack, and AIDS continue to take an unimaginable toll on the nation. At the core of her message she shared important keys on trusting God in the midst of the trial. Sarah had those having a difficult time trusting God raise their hands; then those who weren’t having a hard time trusting Him raised their hand—she had these pray for the ones having a hard time. It was a dynamic time of ministry—and a GREAT first service. Thanks for your prayers.

On Saturday, July 12, in Houston, TX, Marilyn welcomed over 290 people to her Keys to More Miracles in Your Life Breakfast. She taught an enthusiastic crowd a powerful message on the amazing number of midnight miracles in the Bible. Lives were transformed by God’s love and the power of the Word. Over 31 people received Jesus as their Savior and 30 more were baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Sarah is taking a team to Ethiopia next week. She is thrilled to be able to help train, disciple, and mentor local church leaders.  The team will also work in orphanages, minister to street children, plant trees, distribute food and medicine, and provide personal ministry at evening healing meetings. Sarah and her team will be blogging and reporting from Ethiopia which we will be covering here and on her companion blog: onegreenbracelet.org. Africa has been so on our hearts, from my trip to Sudan last December to Sarah’s upcoming trek to Ethiopia, we just can’t turn our backs on a country–a CONTINENT–that is so in need. This note from a dear woman in South Africa is testimony that we must do all that we can to help the people of Africa.

I praise God for the wonderful work you are doing for us in Africa.  Going through such rough times in our country (South Africa) at the moment, it is a blessing to know that people like you, Sarah and your personnel have us in your hearts and prayers.  May God bless you, your family and personnel abundantly and I pray that you will go from strength to strength. This past weekend I hosted a women’s tea to bless Africa and more than 300 women attended!  God is definitely touching hearts and calling us to act on behalf of the African people.  Please continue to pray for Christians in Africa, for the orphans and children, and for Sarah’s trip to Ethiopia in July.

One of the highlights of any international trip is the opportunity to sow into the lives of Christian leaders and local pastors. This trip was no exception! 

As part of our efforts for the Leadership Conference, we not only provide all of the teaching, worship, mentoring, and transportation at no cost to attendees, we also feed them. We had no idea the miracle that was waiting for us during our Cairo conference! 

Our staff had purchased 4,000 lunches for the pastors and leaders. Upon receiving all 4,000 coupons back and handing out 4,000 meals, our volunteers went back to the room and discovered 1200 more packages. So they gave these out to the security volunteers. Then, they discovered even more meals which they shared with those who had to travel that night to get home.  Again, they returned to the storage area and found more food! At this point, the team began handing out the overflow to the homeless people there in Cairo.

What a miracle of multiplication…that has no explanation—except for the miracle-working power of God!

The head of the Evangelical Church in Egypt said our citywide healing meetings were the largest Christian events ever held in Cairo! Over 9,000 attended our two miracle healing meetings—in addition, more than 2,000 pastors and leaders came to our Leadership Conference.

During our second healing meeting:

A man with diabetes felt the power of God touch him. When he checked his blood sugar level after prayer, it was normal—and his eyesight improved.

A woman’s healing was restored and she could raise her arm above her head—something she couldn’t do before because of pain from osteoporosis.

A woman scheduled for a hip replacement was healed.

2,000 pastors and leaders attended our Leadership Conference this morning. After Marilyn imparted her wisdom and experience from over 38 years of ministry, she and the 130 members of her team formed a prayer tunnel and anointed each leader.

Marilyn Hickey Ministries also provided transportation and food for the pastors during the conference. It’s another way that we share the love of God with Christian leaders as we travel around the world.

An hour and a half before the start of our first citywide healing meeting in Cairo—1,000 people were waiting outside to get in—and by the time the meeting started—4,000 were in attendance!

After Marilyn prayed for the sick:

• a woman was healed of 20 years of chronic back pain caused by disk degeneration

• God instantly restored a woman’s hearing after 4 previous ear operations

• a cancer patient, experiencing intense pain, left the meeting pain free
